Young Chefs: Intermediate Pastry Arts
Calling all aspiring pastry chefs!
WE STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT CAMPERS INTERESTED IN THIS CAMP TAKE THE INTRODUCTION TO PASTRY ART CAMP BEFORE ENROLLING
Our Intermediate Pastry Arts Summer Camp is an immersive, hands-on experience designed for motivated bakers ages 11–14 who are ready to go beyond the basics. This camp challenges students to refine their technique, deepen their understanding of pastry fundamentals, and work with greater precision—all in a professional, kitchen-safe environment.
Throughout the week, campers will build on core baking principles while mastering more advanced techniques such as proper scaling, temperature control, dough fermentation, lamination basics, and refined mixing methods. Students will produce a range of elevated sweet and savory items—including artisan breads, laminated pastries, layered cakes, and composed desserts—while learning how ingredients, ratios, and timing impact final results.
Campers will also develop intermediate pastry skills such as consistent piping, structured cake assembly, dough shaping, finishing techniques, and thoughtful presentation. Instruction emphasizes organization, teamwork, problem-solving, and professional kitchen habits, helping students gain confidence and independence in the kitchen.
By the end of camp, participants will have strengthened their technical skills, expanded their flavor knowledge, and created polished pastries they can proudly share—leaving with both impressive take-home creations and a deeper appreciation for the craft of baking and pastry arts.
